Asonist strikes again

Posted by Graham Spence on Jul 11, 08 03:10 PM in Crime

A late-night arsonist struck in Stanwell over the weekend, starting fires in undergrowth and setting light to a road bollard.

Surrey Fire and Rescue crews put out four separate blazes which they believe were started deliberately.

The first undergrowth fire was started on Saturday at about 8.30pm at Staines reservoir, and a second nearby at 1.50am on Sunday.

An hour later, at 2.52am, a third undergrowth fire was put out in Stanwell Road, Ashford, before the arsonist struck for a fourth time, setting fire to a road bollard in Town Lane, Stanwell .

Surrey Police are investigating and anyone with information should call 0845 125 2222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
