Tories know how to Party
Members and guests of Ashford North and Stanwell South Conservative Group made the most of the summer weather for their annual garden party.
The social event, organised by the party, took place on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Heathrow Cottages, Oak Road, Stanwell - a local landmark dating back to the 1640s.
More than 60 guests enjoyed afternoon tea outside, under the shade of gazebos and guest of honour on the day was Spelthorne MP, David Wilshire, who delivered a short speech before making the draw in the raffle, assisted bt Spelthorne Council leader, Cllr John Packman.
Money generated from the raffle will be used to cover the Spelthorne party's costs.
Spelthorne councillor for Stanwell, Marion Rough, said: "The only downside was Heathrow switched runways at 3pm, it had been very peaceful before that."
