Stanwell Age Concern will be holding its annual meeting on Wednesday October 22 at Stanwell Village Hall in Stanwell High Street at 2pm.

The disruption was highlighted in the Staines & Ashford News in October 1983 and campaigners thought they had their wish when a 7.5 tonne weight restriction was imposed.

Stanwell Hall Hotel in Town Lane has applied for planning permission to build a three-story side extension, demolish and rebuild its rear two-storey extension and build another two-storey extension to hotel outbuildings.

Bosses at the hotel also hope to extend its car park and vehicle circulation area on the 0.35 hectare site.
Officers have reccommended that councillors approve the plans, which will go before Spelthorne planning committee on Wednesday October 15.
