A selection of directories covering Spelthorne and dating back more than 200 years have gone on public display.
The documents, which are equivalent to today's telephone directories, are available to view at Spelthorne Museum in Elmsleigh Road, Staines.
Tennis courts in Spelthorne are to be refurbished after the borough council allocated 110,000 over the next three years.
The money will be spent resurfacing the courts in Cedars Park in Lower Sunbury, Clockhouse Lane in Ashford, the Lammas in Staines, Stanwell Recreation Ground, Fordbridge Park in Ashford, Staines Park and Bishop Duppas Park in Shepperton.
Voluntary Action in Spelthorne is offering charities working in the borough the chance to use free office space at Community Link, based within the council offices at Knowle Green, Staines.
Users have access to meeting and interview rooms as well as equipment such as a photocopier, shredder and laminator.
The Rotary Club of Ashford brought in a record collection of £8,849 this year through their Christmas float touring the streets of Ashford and Stanwell.
The float had to be replaced after it was destroyed by arsonists last year and a replacement was bought through donations from local councillors, businesses and residents.
And the Rotarians were delighted after beating their previous best of £8,756 last year.
Firefighters released a driver who was trapped after two cars collided on Wednesday, December 14, on the M25 between junctions 14 at Stanwell Moor and 13 at Staines at about 7.50pm.
The driver of a silver Ford Focus had to be cut free following the crash with a grey BMW 325i. Both motorists sustained only minor injuries and did not require hospital treatment.
The anticlockwise carriageway was shut for about an hour while the vehicles were cleared causing congestion in the area.
Lisa Smith and Keilan Bond had a very special present on Christmas Day 2008 - a baby daughter.
Elloise Bond was born at 5.40am on December 25 at St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey, weighing 5lb 15oz.
She will live with her parents in Cranford Avenue, Stanwell.
The 2009 electoral register - which will be used for European Parliamentary elections and Surrey County Council elections on June 4 - has been published.
The register contains 72,328 electors representing 96.2% of the electorate and is available for inspection at the Spelthorne Council offices in Knowle Green, Staines.
Surrey and Met police joined forces to try and locate two possible car thieves, who fled the scene of a collision on the northbound M25, between junctions 13 and 14, on Monday, January 5 at about 1.53pm.
A grey Honda S2000 sports car was in minor collision with a white heavy goods vehicle, before colliding with the central reservation.
Spelthorne Council will be donating its extra revenue from car parking following the 2.5% cut in VAT to charity.
Motorists were not passed on the Government cut due to the cost and difficulty of making the changes and the council has made an additional contribution to make up a £22,000 kitty.
