Mistakes have been made again, says residents' association
The Chairman of the Northlands Residents' Association in Stanwell has hit out at his housing provider for what he believes to be mistakes on his yearly bills.
Spencer Taylor, who lives in Northlands Estate feels A2 Dominion, who manage around 450 properties in the area, have misplaced certain costs implemented this month.
He also says other costs have been added twice, while gas prices have increased by around £3,000 and Spencer believes that the costs are rising due to A2 Dominion sending out wrong statements in February.
Spencer said: "The gas bill is totally ridiculous. Most of the flats have one radiator and the hot water is communal. In the Northlands Estate there are eight blocks with about 24-34 flats in each, and each block is paying about £11,000, which is about £3000 up from last year. We are not terminal 5.
"So far as gas goes they are saying they are not going to change it. But I think the management costs have gone up because they are asking us to pay for their mistakes."
Spencer also said that he believes further mistakes have been made as the statements for Lord Knyvetts Court are billed twice for gardening costs, while Vickers Court are not being billed for gardening at all.
Spencer said: "Come the end of year, residents of Vickers Court are going to get a massive bill, to make up for the money we haven't been paying.
"I would like A2 to put all the charges at a reasonable level. They are expecting residents to pay for their management costs when they are making mistakes. They need to sort out this gardening thing, and to be honest I don't see any reason for increasing prices. They need to look at previous statements to see what we were charged for last year."
Spencer also said he is annoyed because the housing provider are charging for a communal area in Vanguard House, which has not been on a bill before.
A spokeswoman for A2 Dominion said incorrect service statements were issued in February due to technical diffculties.
She said: "We would like to apologise for any inconvenience or confusion caused. A2Dominion Group was formed last year following a merger and as a result, there have been some changes to residents' service charges.
"Service charges are worked out separately for different estates, and in a number of places, service charges have decreased.
"However, in some areas the cost of providing services has increased, and we therefore need to generate more income to cover these extra costs."
A2 said they were investigating any further mistakes.

Hello
I live in an a2 dominion one bed flat in Bucks. My service charge was increased by nearly 70% last year. The building is surrounded on three sides by tarmac. At the end is a communal lawn for use by all residents of the estate. I think that since the merger, a2 dom'n have arbitrarily applied this increase and haven't even looked at the site. They continue to be nearly impossible to contact about this matter (which has been going on since the increases were applied towards the beginning of the year), but still succeed in sending worrying demands for 'arrears'. They remain, in my opinion, a disjointed and dysfunctional organisation.
