Police target vehicle crime
Copper piping was stolen from a van parked in a residential road on Monday August 10.
Between 12.15am and 1.15am a white panel van was broken into by thieves in Townsend Road, Ashford.
About six hours before in Cambria Gardens, Stanwell, another car was broken into by having a side window smashed, and a handbag containing £100 in cash was stolen.
Spelthorne Neighbourhood Sergant Rebecca Kempster, said: "These thefts can happen in the space of a few minutes, so we are asking people to be vigilant and not leave valuables in their vehicles."
A countywide anti-theft campaign was launched on Friday August 7 to try and make more people aware of the thefts called 'don't make it easy for them.'
Police will try and target thieves with arrests, warrents, and undercover operations, as well as providing extra patrols in hotspot areas.
