Graffiti kid gets a caution

Posted by Mark Goode on Sep 8, 09 03:05 PM in Crime

A teenage boy has been given a police caution for graffitiing buildings in Stanwell.

The 16-year-old boy was cautioned last week for tagging about 10 buildings over the summer.

Spelthorne neighbourhood sergeant Andy Oldham, said: "When he was interviewed we later found he had tagged around 10 times.

"Graffiti is not a victimless crime, because it costs money to clean up, either from the tax payer or the landowner.

"Most people don't know that, because when the boy was interviewed he didn't realise it costs money to clean it up."

We'd like to hear from you.
