Hotel opening date scuppered by recession

The opening of the Stanwell Hotel has been pushed back for six months due to the recession.

The building in Town Lane closed in September 2008 for part demolition and extension from 19 rooms to 54, and was due to open this month, but has been put back until Easter next year.

The owners have had to look at their finances and contracting work due to the recession, which is the reason for the delay.
