Spelthorne Council offering reward to catch Stanwell vandals

A £500 reward is being offered to find the perpetrators who committed £30,000 worth of damage to a Spelthorne Council owned sports facility in November.

The council is offering the reward for information leading to the arrest of the people responsible for the destruction of the pavilion in Long Lane Recreation Ground in Stanwell.

The incident happened over the weekend of November 21/22 where vandals smashed windows, pulled off radiators, ripped apart cupboards and doors, broke sinks, pulled down the ceiling, pulled out electrical sockets, and flooded the place by turning on water.

It is believed the vandals are from the area.

Councillor Frank Ayers, portfolio holder for community safety, said: "The flat was extensively damaged by this wanton act of vandalism, all the windows were broken and sanitary and electrical fittings destroyed.

We'd like to hear from you.
